Pistou is a very tasty sauce made with garlic and basil finely chopped and mixed with lots of olive oil.
Pistou is the French version of the Italian famous pesto sauce, the only difference is that there are no pine nuts. Pistou is usually enriched with Parmesan or sheep milk cheese and served on pasta or pizza.
