The charming town of Nice features several important Roman ruins which bear fitness of its glorious past.
If you are a history lover, don’t forget to visit Lazaret Cave, a prehistoric site dating back to the Paleolithic Age where over 20.000 fragments of animal bones and part of a human skull were found.

Terra Amata Human Paleontology Museum is an open air archaeological site located on the Baron Mountain behind Nice which exhibits interesting prehistoric finds like the traces of an elephant hunters camp dating back to the Paleolithic Age and of prehistoric villages.
In Cimiez quarter there are the ruins of the important Roman town of Cemenelum: the Roman thermae, the arena, the amphitheatre and a paleochristian basilica.
